Moving Forward.

Ever since we moved to the Denver metro area, we have been asking ourselves “How can we move up into the mountains?”.  We thought about it, and strategized about it.  Finally, during this last month, we figured out that if we were going to do it, we needed to jump into the proverbial cold water instead of easing into it.  Now, we ARE indeed moving to the mountains, but there is more to it than that.

We are basically selling everything we own and are moving into an RV so we can travel North America for the next few years.

Yeah, we’re crazy; we know.

It has been a bit of a pipe dream for a while now, and the more we talked about it, the more realistic it seemed.  The timing couldn’t be any more right, actually; if we don’t do it now, we may have a hard time doing it later on.

“If you don’t do it this year, you’ll just be one year older when you do.” -Warren Miller

“The Mountains are calling and I must go” -John Muir

Now, what are our goals for traveling?

Our first goal is to EXPERIENCE things.  Things like local culture, land, animals, plants, rocks and cities.  We want to ALWAYS have a story to tell.  We don’t want to simply go places, we want to DO things at places.  We plan on meeting locals and fellow travelers, exchange tips, tricks, and stories about where we are going and where we have been.

Our second goal is to INSPIRE.  We plan on working very hard to bring everybody pictures, videos, journal and blog posts about where we are and what we are experiencing.  We want to inspire YOU, our friends and family to get outside and have your own adventures.  We hope that we may even inspire you to meet us at some point along our route so we can adventure together!

We are very excited about all of this and we hope that you will keep up with us.  We have it set up so you can subscribe to this web page.  Subscribing to this page with your e-mail will work out for both of our benefit.

  • Subscribing will help you because you will hopefully be inspired to get outside and have an adventure, take your spouse on an adventure, take your kids on an adventure, take your parents on an adventure, etc. You get the picture.
  • Subscribing help us because we know we are actually writing and taking these pictures and videos for our friends and they are not falling on deaf ears.  The more people we are writing to, the more motivation it gives us to really put some work into the pictures and videos we take and share.  Also, the bigger the audience we have, the more experiences we may have.  Maybe you’ve been somewhere near where we are going and you really liked it (or didn’t like it).  You can then let us know about your own personal experience.

All of that being said, please fill out the subscribe form at the bottom of this page to get inspired and ‘Live Vicarious’ through Nate and Stephanie on our Adventure in a Backpack.
